AWARDS Prepares and submits applications to FGCMD for awards; coordinates the Special MLGC Awards with presentations every two years.
CALLING Contacts members to take attendance and luncheon reservations for general meetings and other club functions and events.
COMMUNICATION Prepares newsletter with club updates and announcements for monthly distribution to members; maintains and edits MLGC website and posts club related activities; monitors MLGC Facebook page.
CONSERVATION & ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS Provides information about and promotes sustainable gardening, native plants, and the preservation of our natural resources; partners with several youth groups and community organizations for projects.
FLORAL DESIGN Provides education to members about floral design; organizes floral design workshops and special floral events; informs members on statewide floral events.
GARDEN TOUR PLANNING Plans the “Secret Country Gardens” tour.
HISTORIANMaintains club scrapbooks with photos, news articles, awards, and other memorabilia. HORTICULTURE/CONTAINER GARDENING Stimulates knowledge and a love of gardening by sharing information at meetings, hands on projects, and disseminating horticultural information such as planting, propagating, caring for flowers and ornamental plants; coordinates the perennial plant sale at the garden tour, and “Grow & Show” at monthly meetings.
HOSPITALITY Makes arrangements for the monthly luncheons and other social events.
MEMBERSHIP Maintains membership roster for club; provides updates to District V; provides membership updates; gives guests information about club.
PROGRAM Plans and coordinates programs and speakers for monthly meetings; plans workshops and various field trips.
PUBLICITY Prepares materials for submission to local news media.
RUTH ENLOW LIBRARY GARDENS Oversees yearly planting and maintenance of county library gardens. Accident Library Garden, Grantsville Library Garden Committee, Oakland Library Garden Committee
SCHOLARSHIP Oversees the Garrett College scholarship administered by the Garrett College Foundation, and annual awards for adult continuing education. Three members are appointed by the President for each two-year term.
YEARBOOK Designs and compiles information for the Yearbook.
